TRANSITION AMERICA:Not getting any interviews?
Transition America:”You have great experience and an amazing work ethic and you’re even willing to be negotiable on salary. But after sending your resume to countless, perfectly matched job opportunities, you’re just not getting any interviews.”
Transition America asks :”Why?” It may be hard to believe, but there’s a good chance it may be your resume. With the average employer spending less than 30 seconds scanning the resumes they receive, your resume needs to ‘be the ticket’ to grab attention and get the interview, according to the Nation’s Career Search Specialists, Transition America.
According to Transition America, to stand out from the others you not only need a good looking, professional resume , but also one that instantly establishes your credibility and conveys that you’d get the job done. The goal of the resume is to showcase your most marketable skills. According to Transition America, “not only does your resume need to be professional, but it needs to create value. A powerful resume will reflect your transferable skill set and be a reflection on how you will impact the new employer.”
TRANSITION AMERICA:The Wrong Resume Can Cost you Thousands
The average job search lasts 18 weeks, according to data from the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. So if a job seeker earns $60,000 a year, 18 weeks between jobs add up to a stunning $20,769 in lost income. “Additionally, if you’re fortunate enough to land a job, your resume may have cost you dearly in your salary offer or negotiation,”-said Transition America. In a recent survey of employers, after being presented with both self-made and professional resumes of candidates with identical backgrounds, the employers estimated they’d most likely pay between $2000 to $5000 more for the candidates with the professionally written resumes.
According to Transition America, when preparing for an interview, you wouldn’t think twice about investing in a quality business suit. Clearly, a similar investment in a professionally written resume now could generate a far greater return. The cost of a professional resume writer may be equal to about 1 day’s pay, which is minimal when compared to a better paying job or a paycheck that comes several months earlier
