Eric Youn started his career in Texas. Mr Youn attained his Bachelor’s Degree in English at the University of Houston in 1993. After this, Eric slowly built his career in providing the youth with education and helping them build a better foundation in life. One of his earliest and best achievements is the American YouthWorks’ C-Corps program. Eric Youn created and directed this program that aims to provide an alternative form of education in web design and computer use.

Over the past decade, Eric Youn has also given several presentations regarding education techniques and findings of his own research and studies. Some of his notable presentations include A Continuing Examination of Distance Education Efforts at Schools of Social Work in 2007, The Relationship Between Technology Content in a Masters of Social Work Curriculum and Technology Use in Social Work Practice: A Qualitative Research Study in 3004 and The Relationship Between Technology Content in a Masters of Social Work Curriculum and Technology Use in Social Work Practice: A Qualitative Research Study in the same year.

Eric Youn also has an admirable professional career. Eric was the program manager of American YouthWorks, Home Study Specialist for The Arrow Project and Youth Mentor for The Bridge Youth and Family Services.

Eric Youn who currently works as a Social Work Professor at the University of Hawaii has a BA from the University of Houston in 1993 and has an MSSW at The University of Texas in Arlington – School of Social Work in 2003. Mr Youn also acquired a Doctorate of Philosophy in Social Work Degree at the University of Texas in Arlington. Richard Schoech was Eric Youn Dissertation Chair for his 2007 dissertation entitled: “The Effectiveness of a Virtual Learning Environment on Student Learning of Clinical Skills.”

Apart from that, Eric Youn has received several grants and awards such as the 2007 University of Hawai‘i SEED Grant, the Phi Alpha – Social Work Honor Society – initiated in Spring 2003, the National Dean’s List Recipient Award at the University of Texas at Arlington from 2002 to 2003, and the 2001 Austin Chronicle ‘Best in Austin’ Award for Best Bridge over the Digital Divide.

Eric Youn has two publications which are: “Past, Present and Future Trends in Teaching Clinical Skills through Web-Based Learning Environments” in 2008 by Regan, J. and Youn, E. (Journal of Social Work Education, 44 (2) 95-116) and the “The Relationship Between Technology Content in a Masters of Social Work Curriculum and Technology Use in Social Work Practice: A Qualitative Research Study” in 2007 (Journal of Technology in Human Services, 25 (1/2) 45-58).
