Porcelain Veneers in Abadi and Banki Dental

Many of us have heard of porcelain veneers but don’t know exactly what they are .A veneer is a thin shell of porcelain that fits over a damaged discolored or misshaped tooth. Very good aesthetic can be obtained, with minimal tooth preparation. Normally a reduction of 0.5 mm is required for a veneer on a labial tooth surface. Porcelain is an extremely durable material with a color, translucence and texture that is similar to enamel.

On average, it requires two appointments to prepare and place the veneers. The length of each appointment will depend on the condition of your teeth and the number of veneers you are having done. At your first visit your dentist will shape your teeth and take an impression to send to a laboratory. You will leave the office with temporary veneers on that day. At your next visit your dentist will test your veneers to make sure they are the right color and shape and they fit properly. After having your approval the veneers will be cemented with a composite resin.
Once permanently placed , veneers will feel like a natural part of your mouth. However you should keep in mind that there are also some disadvantages to this procedure. Like any other dental work, veneers don’t last for ever and have to be eventually replaced . Veneers require reduction of healthy tooth structure and can be a costly treatment. But sometimes they are the only solution to your problem.
