JAMES FONTANETTA about animal abusing

Filed under: James Fontanetta — Wrote by admin on Thursday, February 14th, 2008 @ 5:04 pm

James Fontanetta says if you see anyone abusing or neglecting an animal, call the police. It is a federal crime to abuse an animal. If caught, the punishment is imprisonment (ask Michael Vick) or a $10,000 minimum penalty. The law takes animal abuse seriously and is on the side of innocent animals, informs James Fontanetta. Find out which agency is responsible for investigating and enforcing anti-cruelty laws in your state, county, or town, advices James Fontanetta. This may be a local humane society or a taxpayer-funded animal shelter. In areas without such organizations, citizens should call the police or sheriff’s department.

James Fontanetta begs, if an animal is in a life-threatening situation, call authorities immediately. Follow up with them in a timely manner to determine their findings and their planned course of action. If they do not respond right away, call PETA at 757-622-7382, asks James Fontanetta. After you contact authorities, prepare a short written statement detailing the key points of what you observed. Give dates, approximate times, and locations. James Fontanetta warns, timely fact-gathering is crucial-the more time that passes, the greater the risk that evidence will disappear, injuries will heal, or you’ll forget specific details. Written statements from other witnesses will help back up your observations, and if possible, take pictures and date them-photos or videos will strengthen your case.

James Fontanetta warns; always keep a dated record of everyone you’ve contacted, along with the content and outcome of your discussions. Never forward a letter, photograph, or other documentation to anyone without first making a copy for your own files. Make it clear to authorities that you wish to pursue the case and that you are willing to lend your assistance if necessary. Be sure to follow up! If you stay involved, authorities are more likely to do the same. If the first contact doesn’t produce results, go straight to a supervisor. If that doesn’t work, appeal to local government officials, such as the mayor, the district attorney, or city council members. James Fontanetta believes, a call to the media in your area (television and print) can move mountains. Above all, don’t give up-you may be an animal’s only hope!

James Fontanetta believes, helping abused or neglected animals can be difficult and heart-wrenching, but they are depending on you to take action. You can contact PETA at 757-622-7382 if authorities fail to respond quickly to your complaint or if you need guidance or support. James Fontanetta says, together we can save even more lives.

Howard Nestler - why premium executives are not hired

Filed under: Howard Nestler — Wrote by admin on Tuesday, February 12th, 2008 @ 1:30 pm

Howard Nestler announced to a group of individuals interested in executive marketing the “Five Reasons” premium executives are not hired when applying for jobs that would suit them and actually require their specific skills. “The first reason is visibility,” Howard Nestler told them. “Most executives lack the kind of visibility required to make them a valuable commodity.” In other words, they have performed their duties in previous engagements, but failed to advertise their accomplishments to other companies in their sector; their statistics are hidden from view. Nestler makes the point that, “Companies should be aware of an executive’s accomplishments long before an opening occurs.” Ideally, the demand for an executive should be created in advance of a job search.

“The second reason has to do with positioning,” Howard Nestler asserts. “When an executive’s resume appears in a package of other resumes, his or her positioning is that of someone needing a job, which is a negative.” Howard Nestler instructs that a company must be made to want the executive more than the executive might seem to need the company.

“Urgency, or the lack of it, is the third reason executives don’t get the jobs they deserve,” says Howard Nestler. Employers have too many options in today’s job market. Unless they are afraid that an executive will be snapped up by a rival, they have little incentive to move aggressively.

Underestimating the impact of the intangibles a man or woman brings to the position is reason four. Howard Nestler points out that, “None of these intangibles are articulated on a resume. A CEO would need to be clairvoyant to be able to see these values in an executive by looking at a resume.”

Howard Nestler believes that the very first impression a CEO has of an individual will set the tone for everything that is to follow. Howard Nestler says that, “That first impression will dictate what priority the candidate will be given and will most certainly affect the offer made to that candidate.” Asked for what advice he thought would be most important for a job candidate to hear, Howard Nestler answered. “Avoid reason five; don’t follow the herd.”

James Fontanetta has very fond memories of the Odd Couple

Filed under: James Fontanetta — Wrote by admin on Monday, February 11th, 2008 @ 6:08 pm

Based on the Broadway play by Neil Simon, this tells the story of two mismatched friends, Felix Unger and Oscar Madison. Felix is a neat, tidy, and healthy nut, a photographer at a portrait studio, and a connoisseur of classical music. Because of this, his wife divorced Felix and threw him out of his apartment for good. Desperately in the need of a place to live, he moves in with his longtime childhood friend, Oscar Madison, a sports journalist for the New York Herald. What he realizes is that Oscar is the exact opposite of him: sloppy, messy, and doesn’t eat the right foods. Felix’s cleaning, hygienic tips, and healthiness annoys Oscar while Oscar’s crazy world of living like a pig upsets Felix. But in the process they’ll learn that
friendship is more important than living in different worlds.Prior to Randall’s death, he and Klugman were the best of friends which translated onto the screen in that the chemistry they had was unsurpassed. Not realized is that the show during its 5 year run was not a ratings juggernaut. At its peak it was only in the top 50 even though the list of 70’s celebrities that made appearances was impressive…. However, over the past 30 years while in syndication, The Odd Couple has taken on a fan base and a popularity it never enjoyed in first run
episodes. If not for the ABC executives being fans of the quality of the show, it would have never made it past a season or two. For television historians, the quality and writing rank in with Seinfeld, Cheers, All in the Family, etc.The Odd Couple will always go down in the annals of television as one of the best.

CashCall - simple mission

Filed under: CashCall — Wrote by admin on Monday, February 4th, 2008 @ 7:51 pm

CashCall, Inc., was launched in 2003 with a very simple mission-to be the first online lending company that could approve a loan within minutes, day or night, and deposit the funds directly into the customer’s bank account within hours, including loan amounts of up to $20,000. But working in an undefined business space posed unique challenges, in addition to the usual challenges faced by start-up companies. The company’s developers knew that traditional technologies would be too rigid to support this innovative new business. CashCall engaged IBM and IBM Business Partner CCS Technology Solutions to implement a foundation of service oriented architecture (SOA) built on powerful IBM technologies. The result was a flexible and robust IT platform, enabling CashCall to quickly and easily respond to consumer demands.

Although the California-based company may have had a simple mission, their vision for growth was nothing short of ambitious. Led by a visionary CEO and an experienced technology team, CashCall sowed the seeds of success by building an infrastructure that would accommodate rapid growth and change. “Our founder and CEO, Paul Reddam, said he wanted to be able to handle 30,000 new loans a month. So we had a grand vision from the very beginning. Every decision we’ve made has been with an eye to that volume.”

The grand vision and long-term planning have paid off. Leveraging SOA and event driven architecture (EDA) on IBM hardware and middleware, they’ve grown to a US$750 million company with 600 employees in just a few short years. Today CashCall originates 15,000 loans a month and services more than 100,000 loans at any given time. “It’s hard to believe we’re halfway there,” says Ghourdjian. “And we already have the infrastructure in place to handle the 30,000 loans that Paul Reddam envisioned.”

This unique environment helps give CashCall the agility they need to keep a competitive edge in the lending market. By leveraging the flexibility of the architecture, CashCall was able to streamline and automate this process. Now the underwriters receive a complete application in a frozen electronic format. They review the information on the screen, then select one of three options with the click of a button: approve the loan, deny the loan, or send it back for more information. The automated process has helped CashCall achieve the company’s benchmark level of service-loan approvals within 15 minutes. Automating processes like these helps CashCall deliver high levels of service, drawing in new customers and building customer loyalty.

With a successful architecture in place, CashCall continues to expand at a rapid pace and now operates in more than a dozen states. The company works hard to maintain market dominance by continually rolling out improvements and reacting quickly to market changes and business needs. From complicated modifications like automating the underwriting process to minor changes to business rules, CashCall has the flexibility to respond. “Business changes at the speed of light,” says Ghourdjian. “We’re ready.”
